I don't know about other writers out there, but text talk gets on my nerves. Especially the ones that don't make a bit of sense, like IKR (I know, right) or LOLZ (Laugh out Loud....Zebras? Zombies? Zoos? I don't know.) Just to let you know my personal peeve with IKR. Shouldn't it be IK,R? If you think about it gramatically, there's supposed to be a comma between “I know” and “right.” I don't mind it now and then, but when someone does a whole text that way...not giving names, but I have a little sister (the only one with a cell) that does that to me. Sample text conversation:
Emma: wyd Me: I'm doing Chemistry and shouldn't be texting you right now. Emma: ur so cray cray lol Me: Haha. Crazy for doing homework to meet deadlines tomorrow? Emma: Rotfl Totes hillar! Lol and ur so totes cray cray Me: Ignoring you Emma: ikr Top texting peeves:
Also, are hashtags dumb, or is it just me? Or does my dad just say them in a way that makes them dumb. He was in a zone last night where he was joking around to annoy us:) He was hash tagging everything he said. I hug him goodnight, after spending hours studying for a Chemistry test. “Do you feel like crying?” He asked me. “No, not really. I just really want to go to bed.” He kept hugging me, “#letitout.” “Um....Dad? Can I go bed?” “#Touche" Me and my mom were laughing. He did that all evening though. It was so annoying. :) So, just my take on text talk and hashtags.

About Me!Hannah writes to satisfy her imagination. She's written six books so far--five of which need to be rewritten--and is working on a seventh. She ranges through a variety of genres, but favors contemporary YA, fixing broken characters. She wants to use her writing to change people and bring hope. She's currently going to college for Nursing and that takes up most of her writing time. She's a rather stereotypical writer, talking to imaginary friends, eavesdropping on people at the store, secretly being nosy, stashing herself away in her room with a paper and pen and chocolate and her teddy bear. She loves Jesus, the way the morning smells, her family of seven (four siblings), old movies, fairy tales, candles at night and helping people. She writes on another blog at nerdywriter.blogspot.com to hopefully build her chances of publication. My Author Site:Archives
