Mirror mirror on the wall

We had so much fun on Liam's birthday. We went to the air force academy and saw a huge bomber plane. We ate at the Airplane Restaurant and went to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Cute movie:) Love you Liam. What do you do with a little brother who acts like Curious George? A little brother who dips the bathroom plunger into the toilet and then plunges it onto the mirror. A little brother who pours hair oil all over your makeup (actually, Emma's makeup). A little brother who squeezes out all the shampoo in the bathtub, all the lotion in the sink and all the aloe vera in Mom and Dad's contact cases. Who pushes over your grandma's favorite statue, twice and breaks it in half and then breaks the head off. Who dumps out gasoline all over the garage floor. Life with Liam can be a bit of a challenge, but it's worth it. When he laughs so hard he can't breathe, when he decides to tackle you with a hug for no particular reason, when he dances, when you can bribe him into giving you a kiss, when he gives you puppy eyes, it makes up for everything.
Happy 4th birthday Liam. We love you so much. What would life be without you? Just watched Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. *Disappointed sigh* Along with bad acting, cheesy dialogue and lame conflicts, they literally did not do a single thing according to the book. None of the characters looked or acted the way they were supposed to. They left things out, added things in. Ugg. Really bad. Note to self: Never watch that again. My pastor said this in church today, and I thought it was cool. There was a man in the 1800s named Charles Blondin who would tightrope. He was famous for the time he tightwalked across Niagara Falls. Every time he would walk across Niagara falls crowds would gather on either side and watch him. One time he pushed a wheelbarrow with 350 pounds of concrete across on the tightrope. On the other side he dumped it out and asked the crowd, "Do you believe I could put a man in this wheelbarrow and push him across?" The crowd cheered. They believed that he was capable of doing it. So, he picked the loudest man and told him, "Get in the wheelbarrow." When Jesus asked us to believe, he was asking us to be willing to trust him with everything. The word believe meant "all in." He wants us to be able and willing to get in the wheelbarrow and trust him to take us to safety, believing that he won't drop us. The darker the night, the brighter the flame and the more precious it becomes to those who wait or the dawn. I meant to post this a coupla days ago, but never got around to it. Please be praying for the Tabors. They lost their little girl four days ago from a virus that she caught in Thailand that spread to her heart. I mean, I never really knew them personally. I saw them a few times at Thursday classes. She was only six, though, and that makes my heart heavy, because I've got a little sister who is six as well. They're so full of life at that age. They have visions and ideas and they're just starting to learn all the wonderful things the world has for them. They envision what they will become and who they will meet. They're so full of innocence. I don't even want to think about what they must be feeling right now. Just continue to pray please. The Death of a Child I don't dance, but here I am. This is a country song (I know some people don't like country) but it's so sweet. Love it!
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. We had a fun camping trip this weekend. Went up on Friday and slept there (didn't sleep a wink, in case you're wondering) and just hung out today. We went with my Dad's sister and her family, some other cousins, and two of my dad's aunts and uncles. We had fun, had camping food, a campfire and froze our butts off all night. Then, we were leaving the camp ground today and the pass was closed so we had no way to get back home. So we went back to the camp site to wait it out. Didn't work. We ended up having to take a 2 hour detour, with Ella crying because she didn't want to drive all that way. We had so much fun, though. I danced the night away. We had so much fun at our summer ball. My feet ache like crazy, and I'm pretty sure I wore through the top layers of skin on both of my big toes. But we had a blast. Thanks to everyone for making it so special. I thought this was a funny video, accurately depicting my family trying to get somewhere on time. Click 'Read More' to see it.
My dad got a part-time job the other day at Cheyenne Mountain Resort as a set up person for their conferences. It isn't exactly what he wants, but he's willing to do it temporarily to get his business started up. He wants to make money, solely on doing free-lance videos for people, but it's starting up, so the work is slow. Good job, Dad. You can do it:)
My parents are awesome. I was thinking this evening while we were doing our after-dinner chores, my parents are probably going insane with all this pop music. We were listening to Roar by Katy Perry, Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift and a band called Owl City that my mom doesn't like particularly with rap in one of the songs. They're such good sports. And then I think of what a fuss I put up when Dad tries to put on his kind of music. Sorry:) Love you both.
Noah lifted the lantern and blew out the flame...The chamber fell into complete darkness. "Tell me, if I were not speaking, what would evidence tell you? Am I here in the cave with you?"
"I know you are here. I just saw you." "Current evidence." ... "If not for your voice, I would conclude that you are not here." ... "Yet you believe because of what you have learned in the past, what you saw in the light." "That is exactly why I believe." "Good." The lantern flashed back on..."What you have learned in the light, my friend, never doubt when it is dark." ~Eye of the Oracle by: Bryan Davis Because [the Lord] is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. It's simple to love someone, but it's hard to know when you need to say it out loud. The only man who never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything. ~Theodore Roosevelt |
About Me!Hannah writes to satisfy her imagination. She's written six books so far--five of which need to be rewritten--and is working on a seventh. She ranges through a variety of genres, but favors contemporary YA, fixing broken characters. She wants to use her writing to change people and bring hope. She's currently going to college for Nursing and that takes up most of her writing time. She's a rather stereotypical writer, talking to imaginary friends, eavesdropping on people at the store, secretly being nosy, stashing herself away in her room with a paper and pen and chocolate and her teddy bear. She loves Jesus, the way the morning smells, her family of seven (four siblings), old movies, fairy tales, candles at night and helping people. She writes on another blog at nerdywriter.blogspot.com to hopefully build her chances of publication. My Author Site:Archives
