Be brave. Death is a conquered enemy. All fear is gone.

We are the light,, so we sacrifice. We give of ourselves. We burn and let others bask in the warmth of our glow. Their joy brings us joy...We suffer. We die. Our physical lives are but seeds that fall to the ground and perish, but the sprout and grow to life eternal. And our new bodies?...Our new bodies are like the tree [of life]. We blossom and never wither. We burn but are never consumed. We lift up our fiery hands in praise to the king of all, Jesus the Christ! And the evidence of our sacrifice remains...a path to guide other[s new to Christ] For those who feel the fire burning within will need a guiding lamp. The will be afraid, because they will look around themselves and see that no one understands. Their friends and peers are following the idols of the world, lacking vision, blinded by selfish pleasure destined to perish. Seekers of truth know there is a deeper walk, a holy calling, but unless the are able to see the trail that others have blazed, they will not know how to take those first painful, fiery steps, the walk of faith that cleanses the soul. Are you in a state of grace? The man who lets fear of stumbling suppress his desire for knowledge will be a fool indeed. Courage isn't always something you plan. Once in a while you know in advance about difficult times you have to face, and you have a chance to build courage beforehand. We need tests of courage like those. But a lot of opportunities to show courage aren't mapped out for you. They come without warning. That's the real test of faith and character--how you react to sudden fear. If danger jumps out at you, of course you get scared. We all get scared. But how you respond makes all the difference. |
